Focusing on YOU

I know paperwork is a pain, but it will really help us get started more quickly. Make sure to complete the paperwork at least one day before your first appointment. Otherwise, we’ll have to spend a portion of our time together getting that done… and nobody wants that!

Ensuring Your Privacy

I’ll send you a reminder email 48 hours before your scheduled appointment with a link to our confidential, secure, and private session. This link is unique to our scheduled session: nobody else has access.

Making It Simple

At the time of our appointment, simply click on the link, and it will take you directly to our session.

You can even join from your cell phone. Simply download the Simple Practice app. It’s quick and FREE!

If I don’t show up right away on your screen, just give me a few minutes to join the session. I’ll be there. I promise!

Achieving Your Goals

Our first session has a few main goals:

Assess your circumstances.

I’ll have a lot of questions for you, and you’ll share with me your concerns and struggles.

It’s my job to get a good idea what’s going on and how to move forward. Your job is to be as open as you comfortably can.

At the end of the session, I’ll share my thoughts on any present diagnosis and possible treatment approaches. I really want your input on which approach feels best to you.

We’ll make that decision together!

Determine if we’re a right fit for each other.

I’ll match my education, training, and experience with your concerns to determine whether I think I have the right skills to help and support you.

You’ll decide if you like and feel comfortable with me.

It’s simple but incredibly important! If one of us decides that the “fit” just isn’t as good as it could be, that’s okay!

Whenever possible, I’ll provide referrals to qualified individuals who I think can be a great support to you.

Build our relationship.

Once we decide to move forward, we’ll build our therapeutic relationship on the essential foundation of honesty, understanding, and support.

Once we begin to work together:

  • You can expect me to treat you with compassion, empathy, respect, and understanding.
  • You can expect I’ll be available to listen to you and to your interpretations of what you’re currently experiencing.
  • You can expect me to give you knowledgeable and scientifically backed techniques and information to assist you in overcoming your mental health struggles.
  • You can expect we’ll work in a safe, supportive, and confidential space.
  • You can expect me to give you real strategies and techniques you can use to enact positive changes in your life.
